The DS1302 IC is a trickle charge timekeeping chip. It has 31 bytes of static Ram with a real time clock/calendar feature. The real clock/calendar provides information of seconds, minutes, hours, day, date, month, and year. It has simple serial port interface for connecting to the most of the microcontrollers. The battery backup run times is extended due to the low power operation.
